Culebra Environmental Leaders

Culebra Environmental Leaders is a 1-year program, for a dozen students, that has monthly workshops where they learn various aspects of ecology in Culebra. They also visit other places around Puerto Rico on scheduled trips to learn about more regional issues. The idea is to expose them to careers in the environmental field and teach them leadership skills, so they can be ambassadors in the work of protecting and enjoying Culebra.

The startup of this program was facilitated with support from Para La Naturaleza.  Silmarie Padrón, a marine biologist from Culebra who is well known in the environmental field, joins the Culebra Foundation as a collaborator in this program

We are now starting the third group of environmental leaders.
